Kicksite pricing: what a martial arts school really pays

Kicksite costs $49 to $199 a month by student count, plus Basys card fees. The full bill at 25, 75 and 120 students, and the same school on Mat Track.

The short version: Kicksite costs $49 a month for up to 25 active students, $99 for 26 to 50, $149 for 51 to 100 and $199 for 101 or more, every feature included, as of October 2026. Card processing is extra: Basys, its preferred US partner, charges $29 a month plus 2.9% and 25 cents a payment. A 120-student school charging $150 a month pays about $780 a month, software plus processing.

Mat Track is our product. On the same numbers, that 120-student school pays about $657 a month on Mat Track Growth with Stripe's standard card fees, $123 less, and its students get a member app from the App Store and Google Play. Every Kicksite figure below comes from Kicksite's own pricing, payment processing and FAQ pages, read on 8 October 2026.

Kicksite's four price tiers, by active students

Kicksite prices on one axis, the number of active students, with no feature gates. Its FAQ says no tool is locked behind a higher plan, and its pricing page lists what every tier gets: billing and recurring payments, attendance and belt tracking (with promotions recorded at the click of a button), lead capture forms and landing pages, automated messaging for prospects, and email and text messaging, including unlimited one-way texts at no charge. The FAQ also lists free data migration from your current software and a dedicated specialist for setup.

Active students Kicksite per month (October 2026) Software cost per student at the top of the band
0 to 25 $49 $1.96
26 to 50 $99 $1.98
51 to 100 $149 $1.49
101 or more $199 $1.97 at 101, $1.00 at 200

The 26th student moves the bill from $49 to $99, and the 51st from $99 to $149, so each of those students adds $50 a month in software before they pay any tuition. The 101st takes you to $199, and Kicksite's comparison page promises you will "never pay more than $199/month for software". Kicksite's page does not define an active student, so ask whether a frozen membership, a trial student or a paying parent counts, because the answer decides your band.

What Basys card processing adds to the Kicksite bill

Kicksite names Basys as its preferred US payment partner and Stripe as its preferred partner in more than 40 other countries, and its comparison page adds that it integrates with VersaPay as well. Basys publishes three options on Kicksite's payment processing page, as of October 2026:

  • Flat rate card payments: $29 a month, plus 2.9% and 25 cents per payment, the same rate whatever the card type.
  • Card and ACH payments: $35 setup, $49 a month, 2.9% and 25 cents per card payment, and 30 cents per ACH bank payment.
  • Service fee card payments: $29 a month, with each student paying an extra 3.75% on top of their fee, so the school's processing cost is the $29.

The percentage is the same 2.9% at Basys and at Stripe's standard US rate, which is 2.9% and 30 cents per card payment with no monthly fee, as of October 2026. So the cost that comes from choosing Basys is the $29 a month, against which its 25 cents a payment is 5 cents cheaper than Stripe's 30. The $29 outweighs the saving until a school takes about 580 card payments a month.

In the example used throughout this post, where every student pays $150 by card once a month, a 25-student school pays $49 for Kicksite, $29 to Basys and $115 in card fees, $193 in all. At 75 students it is $523, and at 120 students $199, $29 and $552, or $780.

Which Basys option suits your school

Flat rate suits a school where nearly everyone pays by card. It is simple and predictable, and the rate does not jump for premium or business cards.

Card and ACH costs $20 a month more than the flat rate. Each $150 payment moved from card to a bank transfer costs 30 cents instead of $4.60, a saving of $4.30, so the plan pays for itself once about five families pay by ACH. With ten families on ACH it saves about $23 a month, which covers the $35 setup in two months. Bank payments clear more slowly than cards and families have to set them up, so ask them before you count on a share.

Service fee moves the cost to students, $5.63 a month on a $150 membership. Visa's merchant surcharging rules (version dated August 2023) cap a credit card surcharge at 3%, do not allow one on debit or prepaid cards, and list Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts and Oklahoma as states that prohibit or limit surcharging. A 3.75% fee is above that cap, so ask Basys how the service fee is structured to comply in your state before you switch it on.

Kicksite against Mat Track at the same school sizes

Bar chart comparing the monthly bill on Kicksite with Basys and on Mat Track with Stripe, at $150 a student paid by card: 25 students $193 against $165, 75 students $523 against $398, 120 students $780 against $657
Software plus card processing, vendor prices checked October 2026

Mat Track charges by active members, meaning anyone with a live membership or a check-in in the last 30 days; leads, trial members and lapsed members are free. Starter is $49 a month for up to 100, Growth $99 for 101 to 250 and Pro $199 for 251 to 500, with no transaction fees of our own, so you pay Stripe's or GoCardless's standard rates and nothing on top (our pricing, October 2026). On the same example as above:

Students Kicksite + Basys Mat Track + Stripe Saving
25 $193 $165 $28
75 $523 $398 $125
120 $780 $657 $123

The 25 and 75 student figures are on Starter, which covers members, check-in, scheduling, waivers, payments, the inbox, core analytics and the member app. Automations and family billing start on Growth; if you need those, a 75-student school pays about $448 a month on Growth, still $75 less than Kicksite, while at 25 students Kicksite is about $22 a month cheaper. From 251 to 500 students, Pro and Kicksite are both $199 for software, and with no $29 processing fee Mat Track stays cheaper in total across that band unless the school takes more than about 580 card payments a month. Above 500, Kicksite still caps at $199 and Mat Track quotes.

The result holds when families pay by bank. At 120 students with half on bank payments, Kicksite on Basys's card and ACH plan comes to about $542 a month; Mat Track Growth with Stripe cards and Stripe ACH Direct Debit (0.8%, capped at $5, October 2026) comes to about $450, $92 less. Mat Track also publishes its annual price, 20% off: $39 a month for Starter ($468 a year) and $79 for Growth ($948 a year), where Kicksite quotes its annual discount on a demo call. Plans are month to month with no contract, and the 7-day trial needs no card and no call.

The money is half the case. Every Mat Track plan includes the member app, on the App Store and Google Play, where students log check-ins, keep weekly streaks, earn badges for belt promotions and milestones, and see a leaderboard split so adults and juniors are ranked separately. Belts and stripes sit on every profile with promotion criteria, so the list of students ready to grade builds itself. Kicksite's students use the Member Portal, which its FAQ describes as a mobile web app where students or guardians can book classes, check in with a barcode, track belt progress, watch curriculum videos and manage payment methods; Kicksite does not list an app in either store.

Where Kicksite is ahead: every feature, prospect automations included, from $49, free unlimited one-way texting, a dedicated onboarding specialist, a 30-day trial against our 7, and a done-for-you website service. If you want the lower monthly bill and students who open an app between classes, start a 7-day free trial or read our Kicksite switching page for the side-by-side.

How Kicksite's price compares with Martialytics and Gymdesk

Against Martialytics and Gymdesk, two rivals that publish prices, read on 8 October 2026, Kicksite is the cheapest at 25 students or fewer (Martialytics starts at $69, Gymdesk at $75 with Gymdesk Payments) and the most expensive from 26 to 150 students. Above 200 it is level with Martialytics' $199. Martialytics includes a free student app and charges standard Stripe rates; Gymdesk includes a website builder in every plan. The full field, prices and apps side by side, is in the best Kicksite alternatives for martial arts schools, and the whole bill at 50, 150 and 300 students on eight platforms is in what martial arts gym software costs.

Questions to ask on a Kicksite demo

What is the annual discount? Kicksite quotes it only on the demo. Ask for the figure, whether the $199 ceiling holds at your size, and what happens to an annual price if your student count crosses a band during the year.

What does the website cost? Kicksite builds websites for martial arts schools in four versions: Basic (one to three pages), Advanced (adding a blog, instructor bios and program pages), Premium (adding Google Business Profile work and listings on about 60 directories) and Multi-Location. None has a published price.

What are the contract and cancellation terms? Neither the pricing page nor the FAQ states a minimum term or how to cancel. Get both in writing before the free month ends.

What would another processor cost? Ask what Stripe or VersaPay would cost a US school through Kicksite, and what Basys charges for chargebacks and failed ACH payments, which its published table does not list.

The verdict on Kicksite pricing

As of October 2026, Kicksite's software pricing is what it says: four bands, every feature, $199 at most. At 25 students or fewer it is the cheapest of Kicksite, Martialytics and Gymdesk, and level with Mat Track's Starter on software. Processing through Basys adds $29 a month to the card fees every school pays, and the card and ACH plan is worth taking once a handful of families pay from a bank account. On our example the same school pays less each month on Mat Track at every size, unless a school of 25 or fewer needs Growth's automations or family billing, about $100 less on software alone from 51 students up to 250, and gets a member app its students can install. If you want the lower bill and the app, try Mat Track free for 7 days, and if member retention is the bigger worry, our guide to gym member retention covers what to look for whichever platform you choose.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Kicksite cost per year?

At Kicksite's published monthly prices, the software alone costs $588 a year for up to 25 students and $2,388 for 101 or more, as of October 2026. All in, a 120-student school taking $150 a month from each student by card on Basys's flat rate pays about $9,360 a year. The annual discount, which would lower the software part, is quoted only on a demo call.

Does the Kicksite free trial need a credit card?

Kicksite does not say. Its pricing page says a school's first 30 days are free, and the trial starts from a demo booking rather than a self-serve signup. Capterra's Kicksite pricing listing says no credit card is required, as of October 2026. Ask on the demo whether billing starts automatically when the 30 days end or only after you sign.

Why do some websites list Kicksite pricing from $99?

SoftwareSuggest's Kicksite listing, checked October 2026, shows a three-tier table starting at $99 for up to 50 members. Kicksite's own pricing page has four tiers starting at $49 for up to 25 active students, and the Capterra and G2 listings match it. When a directory and a vendor disagree on price, trust the vendor's own pricing page.

Can a school outside the US take payments through Kicksite?

Yes. Kicksite's payment processing page names Stripe as its preferred partner outside the US, available in more than 40 countries, as of October 2026. Stripe charges its own rates for your country rather than the Basys rates on this page, and international cards usually cost more than domestic ones, so check Stripe's pricing page for your country before you compare totals.

How hard is it to move from Kicksite to Mat Track?

Mat Track imports members from a CSV file, and Stripe or GoCardless customers can be matched to members in one pass so billing carries over; our team helps with the migration. Before you start, ask Kicksite how to export student and payment records, and ask Basys whether stored cards can move to Stripe, because cards that cannot move have to be entered again.
