Paid martial arts gym software costs $49 to $289 a month at 50 to 300 students, as of October 2026, with card fees on top. Eight platforms, full bills.

The short version: On a paid plan, martial arts gym software costs $49 to $289 a month for a school of 50 to 300 active students, on eight platforms' pricing pages as of October 2026, and usually rises with student count. Card fees come on top and usually cost more: a school of 150 students paying $150 a month by card pays about $700 a month in fees. Software plus card fees, that school pays $797 to $918 a month on the platforms that publish their rates.

Mat Track is our product, and it comes out cheapest at 150 students in the bills below, so check our working. To compare like with like, the same school is priced on every platform: 50, 150 or 300 active students, each paying $150 a month by card. Priced by school size. Mat Track, Kicksite, Martialytics, Gymdesk and Zen Planner charge in bands of active students. Kicksite runs $49 up to 25 students to $199 above 100. Martialytics runs $69 up to 50 to $199 above 200. Gymdesk runs $75 up to 50 to $200 for 151 to 250 with its own payments, and quotes above that. Mat Track runs $49 up to 100 to $199 for 251 to 500. Mat Track, Martialytics, Zen Planner and Gymdesk all say leads or prospects do not count towards the band; Kicksite's page does not say.

One flat price. Spark Membership charges the same at any size: $199 a month on its annual plan or $249 month to month, according to its offer page.

Free software, dearer card fees. PushPress has a $0 plan with unlimited members that charges 4.99% plus 30 cents a card payment, against 2.89% on Pro at $159 a month and 2.75% on Max at $229.

A core price plus packages. Zen Planner charges $99 to $289 for its Studio core by member band, $198 to $388 for Essentials with a website, and $348 to $538 for Ultimate with its Engage marketing tools. Wodify lists $199, $299 and $499 a month; until 31 October 2026 it advertises $100 a month off if you book a demo, without publishing the terms.

Martialytics $69 $129 $199

PushPress Pro $159 $159 $159
Spark Membership $199 $199 $199
Wodify Essentials $199 $199 $199

Prices as of 22 October 2026; Zen Planner's are its Studio core. Gymdesk's prices assume Gymdesk Payments; with your own processor it costs $25 to $40 more. Spark's is the annual plan. Wodify's is the regular price. Mat Track's $49 Starter plan has no automations; with them, on Growth, a 50-student school pays $99.

Kicksite includes free unlimited one-way texting at every tier. Martialytics includes every feature and its student app on every plan. Spark includes its member app, free data migration and an account rep who sets the system up. PushPress Pro and Wodify have no member limit, so the fee never rises with the school. Zen Planner bills only active members, never prospects or staff, and runs month to month. Gymdesk's branded app costs $100 a month extra, Zen Planner's $39, and PushPress's $97; Mat Track includes its member app on every plan.

Card fees on top of the martial arts software fee

A school of 150 students paying $150 a month takes $22,500 a month by card. At Stripe's standard 2.9% plus 30 cents, which is what Mat Track and Martialytics schools pay (neither adds a fee on top), that is $697.50 a month, as of October 2026. Card fees through each platform at 150 students:

  • Stripe, used by Mat Track and Martialytics: 2.9% plus 30 cents, $698 a month.
  • Gymdesk Payments: 2.9% plus 30 cents (Gymdesk), $698.
  • Kicksite with Basys: 2.9% plus 25 cents and $29 a month (Kicksite), $719.
  • PushPress: $664 on Max, $695 on Pro and $1,168 on Free.
  • Spark Membership: an "average processing rate" of 2.86% on a Spark offer page, subject to card network fees, with no per-payment fee published, about $644.
  • Zen Planner and Wodify: Zen Planner quotes its payment rates, and Wodify lists card rates from 2.7% plus 30 cents, the lowest on its Ultimate plan, without a rate for each plan.

Bank payments change this more than any choice of software. On Stripe, a US bank debit costs 0.8% capped at $5, so a $150 membership costs $1.20 to collect against $4.65 by card. If half of that 150-student school paid by bank, its fees would fall from about $698 to about $439 a month. Gymdesk Payments charges 1% capped at $5 for bank payments, PushPress Pro 0.79% plus 30 cents, and Kicksite's card and bank plan costs $49 a month, $35 to set up and 30 cents a bank payment.

The full monthly bill for a martial arts school

Software fee plus card fees, with every student paying $150 a month by card, as of 22 October 2026:

Active students 50 150 300
Mat Track $282 $797 $1,594
Martialytics $302 $827 $1,594
Gymdesk $308 $848 Quote
Kicksite $358 $918 $1,608
PushPress $389 $854 $1,550
Spark Membership $414 $843 $1,486

PushPress is on its cheapest plan for each size: Free at 50 students, Pro at 150 and 300. Spark is on its annual plan; the monthly plan adds $50. Mat Track at 50 students is the Starter plan; with automations it is $332. Zen Planner and Wodify are left out because neither publishes a card rate a school can count on.

At 50 students the banded platforms cost least, between $282 and $358, because their entry bands are cheap and card fees are still small. At 150 five of the six land within $60 of each other, so features and the add-ons you need matter more than the headline fee. At 300, a flat price catches up: on Spark's advertised average card rate, its bill is $1,486, the lowest here, though Spark publishes no per-payment fee, and a 30-cent fee like everyone else's would add $90, to $1,576, between PushPress and Mat Track. Our pricing posts break each bill down further: Kicksite, Spark Membership, Gymdesk, Zen Planner and PushPress.

What pushes a martial arts software bill up

Crossing a band. On a banded plan the fee jumps at set student counts, at 26, 51 and 101 on Kicksite and at 101 and 251 on Mat Track. Ask how a vendor counts families and paused memberships, because those decide which band you sit in. Mat Track lets a school go 10% over its limit before it has to move up.

Add-ons you turn on later. A branded app, a website and marketing tools are often priced separately. On Zen Planner, the website and Engage add $99 and $249 to the Studio fee; on PushPress, the Grow marketing and CRM add-on costs $329 a month.

Text messages. Some platforms meter texts. Spark sells text credits in packs on top of its fee and does not publish their price on its offer pages, while Kicksite includes free unlimited one-way texting at every tier. Ask what a reminder to every student costs before you plan your follow-ups around texts.

Hardware and setup. Card readers, door access and data migration can carry their own charges (see the FAQ), so ask whether moving your members across is included.

Promotions that end. An introductory price is not the price you pay in month thirteen. Wodify's demo discount, for example, has a closing date, so ask what the bill becomes afterwards.

Monthly billing and your own processor. Annual plans cost less where they are offered (see the FAQ), and Gymdesk charges $25 to $40 a month more if you keep your own payment processor.

Questions to ask before you sign up for gym software

Before the trial ends, ask each vendor these questions and keep the answers in writing:

  1. Which price will I be billed when the trial ends, monthly or annual, and is the annual plan paid up front?
  2. What card rate and per-payment fee will I pay, what do bank payments cost, and is there a monthly payments fee?
  3. What counts as an active student, and how are families and paused members counted?
  4. What do the app, website and text messages cost, if they are not included?
  5. Can I leave at any time and take my member and payment data with me?

Which pricing suits which martial arts school

A new or small school, up to about 50 students, pays least on a banded plan with a cheap entry band. A school of 100 to 250 students should compare full bills, because the platforms sit close together and a $100 app add-on can decide it. A school of 300 or more should look hard at flat prices and at card rates, which by then move the bill more than any software fee. Whatever the size, price the school you expect to be in a year, not the one you are today. To see how the platforms compare on features, our Martialytics alternatives and Kicksite alternatives guides compare them on what a school uses every day.

Frequently asked questions

Is free martial arts software worth it?

Only for a small school. On PushPress, moving from the free plan to Pro costs $159 a month and lowers the card rate by 2.1 points, as of October 2026. That saving covers the $159 once a school takes about $7,600 a month by card, around 50 students paying $150. Below that the free plan is cheaper; above it, Pro costs less, and the gap widens with every student.

Do I need to buy hardware for martial arts gym software?

Not always. Zen Planner rents card readers at $39 a month, and Gymdesk's door access, in beta, costs $100 a month for up to three doors plus $29 for each extra door, with the hardware and fitting quoted separately, as of October 2026. Mat Track's plans include kiosk, QR code and self-scan check-in, and its setup steps start with a printed QR code at the door.

Is annual billing cheaper for martial arts software?

Where a discount is published, by about a fifth, if you can pay for the year. Mat Track's annual plans cost $39, $79 and $159 a month, 20% under monthly, and Spark Membership's annual plan is $199 a month against $249, as of October 2026. Kicksite advertises discounted annual pricing without publishing it, and Zen Planner bills month to month with an annual contract on request.

How much does martial arts software cost for a second location?

It depends on the vendor, as of October 2026. Martialytics includes unlimited locations in every plan. Gymdesk charges $50 a month per extra location with Gymdesk Payments, or $100 with your own processor. Mat Track Pro covers up to three sites for $199 a month. Spark Membership publishes no price for a second school, so ask before you open one.

Do martial arts software companies charge a setup fee?

Most published plans have none. Gymdesk states no setup fee, no minimum term and no exit fee, as of October 2026. Kicksite charges $35 to set up its card and bank payment plan, and Wodify lists a small onboarding fee without giving the amount. Ask for any setup, training or data migration charge in writing before the trial ends, because it rarely appears on the pricing page.
